capture moments through different lenses

I PHONE i phones have a series of different filters that will bring out and add different colors to your image.  they also offer the option of different lenses.  some examples are normal "photo" mode there is also a "portrait", "square", "pano" modes that may be appropriate at any given time.   these photos are both taken on an apple iPhone 7 plus in the instant filter.  the photo on the right was taken in portrait mode.  portrait mode blurs the background so that all the focus goes toward the subject, that is then the only thing the eye focuses on.   among the nine filters apple offers there are three black and white options.  each one has different aspects of light and dark that can be fitting for one photo, but not so much the next.                          here is an example of one picture in the three apple black and white filters.  the filters from left to right are: mono, nior, and tonal.  my personal favorite is tonal

how to capture a quality black and white photo

1 . if there is ever a photo with bland colors or a very plain background changing the filter to a series of black and white options my help to spice it up a bit 2. some patterns can be showcased better using a black and white lens 3. the subject in a silhouette may be more distinct if the setting is changed to black and white 4. there are some photos that are better off in color-- at least in my opinion   as you can see changing the filter to a series of black and white filters can also add more depth and defined lines to images.  these tips may work on some photos, in the end it is all about personal preference. have fun playing around with your own camera roll!! --morgan

Bull riding

Video link Here is a link to a video of a successful attempt at a bull ride.  This ride took place in Park Rapids over forth of July weekend 2017.  Bull riding has many different aspects to it including those of the rider and how he rides and the bull and how he bucks.  Bull riding is scored by officials out of 100, the scorer looks at the bull for half of the score and the rider and his mount for the other 50.  A really good score is high 90+ and a good/average score is one in the 80's.  I personally like to watch the ride a few times looking at different aspects such as how much the rider spurs showing how much he has control.  Another aspect would be how high, fast, and quick the bull bucks also how much he changes directions.  The last aspect  I like to look for is the bull fighters.  One could argue that bull fighters are most crucial aspect to an attempted ride; they are the ones who help distract the bull from the rider when the rider dismounts and pull the rider out of ha

about me

Hey, this is Morgan.  Three words that describe me would be hardworking, laid back, and fun.  Some things I like to do is work, spend time with family, and be outside.  When it comes to the internet/ social media vs. real life I am the same person.  I think it would be hard to change personalities and other characteristics so I like to keep it the same.  On this blog I plan to post various photos across various themes.  I will characterize them by similar photo elements, locations, color, etc. I hope the content of this blog will catch your eye and inspire you to take your own photos.   I chose this picture because it is a sneak peak of other photos I will showcase on my blog. This particular photo was taken this summer at a rodeo up north.  This captivating image also represents my dream to move (south) west in the next five years! --morgan
